‘The ministerial decree implementing the tax credit for investments in the single SEZ for the South of Italy has come into force with its publication in the Official Gazette No 117 of 21 May’” said the Minister for European Affairs, the South, Cohesion Policies and the NRRP, Raffaele Fitto.
The tax credit is available to all companies, regardless their legal form and the accounting regime, already operating or to be established in the single SEZ, in relation to the acquisition of the capital goods provided for by the Decree, and intended for production facilities located in the areas assisted by the regions of Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise, Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily and in the assisted areas of the Abruzzo Region, as identified by the Regional Aid Map 2022-2027, and eligible under the European legislation of the relevant sector.
‘The decree introduces important innovations for companies operating in the Mezzogiorno. This is a very important step for the relaunch of the local economy and to support the growth of investments in the single SEZ’, Minister Fitto noted.
To access the tax credit, from 12 June to 12 July 2024, companies will have to communicate to the Revenue Agency the amount of eligible expenses incurred from 1 January 2024 and those foreseen by 15 November 2024.
"Now companies will be able to use these resources for the relaunch of their investments, the strengthening of competitiveness and the growth of the territory", concluded Minister Fitto.
